Local development:New housing development proposed on State Road 207 in St. Johns County
The service industry:After 43 years, downtown St. Augustine restaurant closes its doors
Plans to open a St. Johns County location of the Jacksonville-based company date back more than a year. Construction of the 40,673-square-foot poker room and simulcast wagering complex at 800 Marketplace Drive began last fall. The site is just off State Road 207, near the I-95 ramp, on the site of the former St. Augustine Flea Market.
The hiring event will take place Friday and Saturday at the bestbet St. Augustine complex from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Resumes are encouraged but not required.
Though an official grand opening date has not been set yet, bestbet representatives estimate it will be sometime later this summer. The facility will include 49 gaming tables, a state-of-the-art sports bar, more than 80 flatscreen TVs, a spacious simulcast area, sushi bar and more.
