Good morning!
Here’s a look at some of the stories we’ll be following today as they make headlines across Southwest Virginia:
A three-day camp for rising 4th-6th graders will take place where they will explore Normandy during this year’s World War II Day Camp. Children can experience the history and culture of northern France at the National D-Day Memorial on Bedford. Daily activities, snacks and a t-shirt are included if you registered. It’s happening from 9:00 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Giles County School Board will hold a work session this afternoon. It will be to discuss the budget and upcoming projects. The meeting starts at 1:00 p.m.
The 9-hole mini-golf course is back in downtown. The Downtown Putt Around opens this afternoon in Century Plaza. Admission is $5 and kids 6-year-old and under are free. Putt-Putt starts at 4:00 p.m.
Botetourt County Public Schools is holding their classified job fair and hiring event. It’s happening at Lord Botetourt High School from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome and pre-registration is not required. If you are interested, you are urged to be prepared to interview for a variety of open positions.
