Mr. van Effen, who studied at TU Delft and felt that scientific advancements will bring about changes in society, founded the TU Delft Excellence Scholarship in the 1940s. Benefits of a Scholarship

A full scholarship covers the tuition fee of €16,000 as well as living expenses of €10,800 (as determined by the IND, the Dutch Immigration and Naturalization Service, for the academic year 2021/2022).

Partial scholarships: If you receive a partial scholarship, your tuition fee will be reduced to € 2,168. For example, in 2021/2022, a grant holder will pay a tuition price of €2,168 instead of €16,000.

Maastricht University Scholarships

Every academic year, talented foreign students from all around the world can apply for Maastricht University Scholarships. The scholarship, worth around €29,000, is fully sponsored for students who have been accepted to Maastricht University to pursue a Master’s degree. The High Potential Scholarship (funded by the Maastricht University Scholarship Fund) and the Holland Scholarship (sponsored by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture, and Science in collaboration with Dutch universities and universities of applied sciences) are both parts of the scholarship program.

Criteria for Applicant

All applicants must satisfy the following criteria in order to be accepted for Maastricht University’s Holland scholarships:

  1. You are a national of a country that is not a member of the EU/EEA, Switzerland, or Surinam, and you satisfy the conditions for getting a visa and a residence permit in the Netherlands.
  2. You are a citizen of a country that is not a member of the EU/EEA, Switzerland, or Surinam, and you satisfy the conditions for getting a visa and a residence permit in the Netherlands.
  3. You are not a dual national of an EU/EEA member state.
  4. You’ve applied to Maastricht University for admission to a full-time Master’s degree for the academic year 2022-2023. The master’s programs at UM that are part of this scholarship program are listed below.
  5. You satisfy the prerequisites for admission to the UM Master’s program to which you have applied.
