Fundraiser to benefit Mentor scholarship program – News-Herald

Mentor High School Class of 1976 is holding its sixth annual MHS Class of ’76 Scholarship Fundraiser Dinner from 6 to 10 p.m. Aug. 13 at St. John Vianney Party Center, 7575 Bellflower Road in Mentor. It will include dinner, cash bar, gift basket auction and 50/50 raffle. The event is open to the public and dinner tickets are available for $50 per person. Tickets for the 50/50 raffle are $20 each or six for $100, and the winner does not need to be present at the event.

Funds raised at this event will support the MHS Class of ’76 Scholarship program. This year, one college scholarship, two Career Technical scholarships, and the Annette Penley Nursing & Allied Health scholarship were awarded to Mentor High School students. The recipient of the $2,000 academic scholarship was Madison Cowie, and the $1,000 Career Technical scholarships were awarded to Mentor High School students Nicholas Smith and Megan Krueger. The $2,000 Annette Penley Nursing & Allied Health Scholarship was awarded to Emma Miller.

Over the past six years, the Mentor High School Class of ‘76 has awarded $20,000 to deserving seniors from Mentor High School. Eligible graduating MHS seniors are encouraged to apply for these scholarships each year.
