Federal Government Reveals Plans To Send Native Doctors To China For Training

The Federal government of Nigeria through it’s Minister of State, Science and Technology, Mohammed Abdullahi, have announced it’s plans to send traditional native doctors (herbalists), to China for training.

The Minister who revealed the FG’s plan at the countries headquarters, Abuja, on Thursday via a Seminar and lecture on

‘Developing Nigerian-Chinese Traditional Medicine’, organised by the Nigerian Youth Congress (NYC) in collaboration with the Chinese Cultural Centre.

Speaking at the event, Abdullahi informed the public that the FG is ready to collaborate with the Chinese government to develop the herbal medicine practice in Nigeria.

And subsequently, send current practicing herbalists to China for training and continue to collaborate with the government of China.

According to Abdullahi , the goal of the Muhammadu Buhari-led government is to eradicate poverty, and herbal medicine has been revealed to yield about $50 billion by 2030, NAN reports.

Reacting to the Ministers claim, the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Cui Jianchun, expressed China’s readiness to support Nigeria in developing its herbal sector to boost its economy.

He also revealed that he had discussed with the Youths Congress and is very much hopeful that they would be given the opportunity to lead the country.

He thereafter went ahead to wish them a successful seminar and prayed that it will be a good template to expand the food security.
