A petition asking for Euro 2020 final match between England and Italy to be replayed has been signed by over 100,000 English fans.

Recall, on Sunday evening July 11, 2021, Italy defeated England on penalties after a 1-1 draw at Wembley, England.

After the match loss, some fans, mainly English fans, who was left devastated, have now launched a petition on change.org asking for the match to be replayed.

The petition was necessitated based on, it apparently “was not fair at all”, with an image of Italian Giorgio Chiellini’s now infamous foul on English winger, Saka – which earned the Italian defender a yellow card as it’s been used to emphasize this apparent unfairness.

The petition read;

The match on 11/07/2021 was not fair at all. After italy only receiving a yellow card for dragging England players like they were slaves. All the pushes, pulls and kicks and Italy was still allowed to win? Definitely biased. Italy should have been given a red card for their gameplay and the rematch should happen with a non biased referee. This was not fair at all.

As at Wednesday July 14, over 127,000 people had signed the petition.
