The Federal Government has announced the news of the arrest of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB today, June 29.
Mr. Abubakar Malami(SAN), the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, who disclosed the news to journalists on Tuesday, said that Kanu was arrested abroad and sent back to Nigeria on Sunday.
He revealed that the arrest was as a result a cooperation of effort between Nigerian security agencies and Interpol.
In the meantime, Kanu has been brought before the Federal High Court in Abuja to continue of his trial on charges that comprise on treasonable felony, terrorism, management of an unlawful society and unlawful possession of firearms.
