An Indian man has reportedly cancelled his wedding prior to the ceremony after discovering that the bride’s family didn’t prepare a dish he had requested for.
To pay back the bride’s family for not preparing his preferred meal, the man went ahead and got married to another woman in that the same day, the New Indian Express reported.
According to the Indian newspaper, Ramakant Patra, 27, and his family members had arrived to marry a lady in Sukinda, in the Jajpur district of Odisha, India on Wednesday June 23, 2021.
Upon arrival, they were duly welcomed by the bride’s family and relatives and escorted to have lunch prepared by the bride’s family before the start of the wedding ceremony.
When the dish was served the groom got angry because he has demanded that mutton(sheep meat) and curry must be part of the meal of the wedding feast but didn’t see it, which led to an argument and later escalated.
Patra shocked everyone as he called off the wedding and all efforts to convince him to change his mind was fruitless.
He and his family left the bride’s house and visited the home of a relative in the same Sukinda, where they spent the rest of the day.
That same night, he was reported to have married another woman before he returned to his hometown in Rebanapalaspal in Keonjhar district of India.
