Instagram influencer widely known as Mr Jollof has shaded the bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo over the bishop’s statement calling for the regulation of social media in Nigeria.
Mr Jollof, who claimed read the news from an online publication, where Oyedepo asked the federal government to use its power to regulate social media, claiming that Nigerian youths spend so much time online chatting and has therefore stopped them from thinking.
In reaction, Mr Jollof finds it surprising that it is coming from such a respected man of God, as he wondered why he only concentrated on the negativities of social media.
He went on to educate the bishop on some of the visible advantages of social media, which include most youths earning a living from it, making it possible for Nigerian musicians to have collaboration with their overseas counterparts, and also has resulted to Nigerian musicians winning the prestigious Grammy awards for the first time.
He urged Oyedepo to also look at the positive side of social media as he alleged that most of the major abusers of drugs in the country are from his university.
He ended by saying that calling for regulation of social media is unnecessary because social media is not the problem of Nigeria.
