Kenyan afro-pop band group, Sauti Sol, has pledged their support for Diamond Platnumz who has received a nomination for BET Awards in the ‘Best International Act’ category.
In a recent post shared via official Facebook page, the group acknowledged and congratulated the Tanzanian singer for the nomination and also urged their fans to vote for Diamond Platnumz.
This comes barely one week after the singer took to his Instagram page to share the good news. However, Diamond Platnumz didn’t receive much support from his fellow artistes from his home country unlike in the past, when he used to receive massive support from them.
A well known radio presenter Mwijaku, is at the forefront, telling Tanzanians not to support Diamond Platnumz, stating that he finds it difficult to supports other artists. They have even taken further steps to sign an online petition to have Diamond Platnumz dropped from the list of the BET nominees.
Currently, it’s also not a different case on Kenya as many fans was spotted in a comment section of Sauti Sol’s post, claiming that they prefer voting for Burna Boy and not Diamond Platnumz.
Going through the comment section, most Kenyan fans said that Kenya and Nigeria are now in-laws following the marriage between a Nigerian man and Ruto’s daughter from Kenya.
They further claimed that Diamond Platnumz should have followed the step but instead, he went and impregnated their girl (Tanasha) and allegedly chased her out of his house.
