The Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry Enugu (AMEN), Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka has publicly tendered an apology to the Catholic Church as well as the Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Most Rev. Callistus Onaga, for the wild behaviour of his followers in Enugu following rumours of his “disappearance”
The clergyman man narrated what happened on the day his members feared he had been abducted.
According to him, he had no idea that his supporters had stormed the Bishop’s house to destroy things on May 5. He further said that when the information of his followers causing havoc at the Bishop’s residence, he quickly rushed to his members and calmed them down, he almost had an accident while he was rushing to meet the members, Mbaka said.
During Sunday service held at Adoration Ground, Umuchigbo in Enugu East Local Government Area on May 9, Fr Mbaka went on his knees and apologised to Bishop Callistus Onaga, the Catholic Church in Enugu as well as the universal Church for damages that was done by his members at the Bishop’s residence at Igbo-Eze Street, Independence Layout Enugu, and Holy Ghost Cathedral, Ogui Enugu State.
Fr Mbaka made the public to understand that, the search for him was hijacked by others, including people from other tribes and faith.
It was learnt that earlier last week, members of the Adoration Ministry had gathered and matched around Enugu, demanding the whereabouts of their spiritual father, Mbaka, who was feared to have been abducted on May 5.
The angry protesters was reportedly stormed the home of Bishop of the Diocese and destroyed property, accusing him of knowing the whereabouts of Fr Mbaka.
