A police officer has been reported to have set his girlfriend’s boutique ablaze after she ended their relationship.
The police officer identified as Onovughue Emmanuel, who is the Deputy Chief Officer, of Ogwashiuku divisional police station, was dating Victoria Ogbechie who owns a boutique in the same Ogwashi-uku, Delta state.
Problem started when the lady told the police DCO that she didn’t want to date him anymore and ended the relationship.
Pained that he was jilted, Emmanuel allegedly proceeded to set fire on Victoria’s boutique at midnight, after she had closed for the day and gone home.
She went to her business place in the morning to discover that her boutique has been razed down, only to be informed by local vigilantes that it was Emmanuel, who poured fuel and set it ablaze.
Victoria immediately approached the DPO of the same police station, Emmanuel serves, to report the matter, but was shocked when the DPO disclosed to her that Emmanuel told him that he was the one who opened and bankrolled the boutique for her.
She debunked Emmanuel’s claim, revealing that she has been operating the boutique for five years now and her relationship with Emmanuel is barely two years, adding that it was her parents who established her as against what Emmanuel claimed.
At the time of filing this report, all efforts to reach DCO Emmanuel on phone hasn’t yielded any result as he has refused to take his calls.
