Captain of Nigeria’s senior football team, the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Ahmed Musa has returned to his boyhood club, Kano Pillars for a second stint till the end of the season.
The former CSKA Moscow winger, 28, is presently a free agent since his contract expired with Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr in October, last year.
His return to the Kano based club is almost 10 years ago after he first left them to join VVV Venlo in Netherland in 2011.
Kano Pillars published a statement on their website that read:
“Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, has sensationally returned to Kano Pillars FC for the remainder of the 2020/21 Nigeria Professional Football League season (NPFL),”
“Musa previously played for the Pride of Kano in 2009 where he ended the season as the top scorer in the Nigeria Professional Football League with 18 goals before moving to VVV-Venlo in the Netherlands.”
According to Kano Pillars, the deal to bring back Ahmed Musa back was finalized after ‘due consultations’ with the player and the League Management Company ‘who stand as a mediator to the deal’ and the governor of Kano, Umar Ganduje will be the one to unveil him.
All things been equal he may feature in their next match on April 28th away to Warri Wolves in the second stanza of the Nigerian professional league.
