Veteran actor Jackie Chan has disclosed that he plans to donate his entire wealth to charity when he died thereby leaving nothing for his only son, Jaycee.
The star who has already made a decision to give to charity half of his fortune when he passes away was speaking at an awards ceremony last week, stated that he hasn’t made up his mind to will any of the huge money he has amassed during his acting career to his son Jaycee.
Chan was quoted by Channel NewsAsia as saying, ‘If he is capable, he can make his own money. If he is not, then he will just be wasting my money,’ .
Chan also revealed that had he knew when Jaycee was younger he would signed him up to join the army to ‘temper his character’.
Just last week rumours were making rounds that Chan, aged 56, had died of a severe heart attack and ‘RIP Jackie Chan’ were trending on Twitter.
Chan came out immediately to debunk the reports and put out a statement on his Facebook page, to assure his fans he was alive and healthy.
Chan responded to the rumours, said: ’I am not dead, though I am so busy that I may get worked to death.
‘I wish the media would report more on public service and charity news instead of gossip. It is of much greater value.
‘Even Will Smith was fooled and mourned my passing on the Internet.’
Jackie Chan is presently in collaboration with charities to assist provide relief materials to those who were victims of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami last month.
