Bauchi State To Conduct Census On ‘Ashawos’ In The State

The Bauchi state government has mapped out plans to conduct a census of commercial s3x workers in the state so as to have an accurate data about them.

The Permanent Commissioner in charge of Hisbah and Sharia implementation, Aminu Balarabe-Isah revealed this during a sensitization workshop put together for commercial s3x workers in Bauchi state on Monday, April 12.

Isah said that the information gotten after the census would help the commission to know the right measures to take in discouraging them from continuing with their ‘dangerous’ business to legitimate means of livelihood.

According to Isah, the plan of the state government is to set up empowerment programmes for the pr-stitutes and then empower them with startup capital for small scale businesses.

He explained that from conducted investigations, most of the ladies ventured into prostitution as a result of poverty, illiteracy or maltreatment they received from staying with their step-mothers.

He also disclosed that in some cases, minor family problems are also responsible for some ladies’ decision to take to prostitution, promising that government would try its best to reunite them with their parents.

Hafsatu Azare, who spoke on behalf of the other pr-stitutes, said they are prepared stop pr-stitution only if the Federal government are willing to empower them financially.

Embattled Roman Catholic Priest and Spiritual director of Adoration Ministry Enugu, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, has finally opened up about his whereabout yesterday.

Recall, Mbaka was declared missing yesterday as thousands of his followers claimed that they were unable to reach him after he was picked up yesterday by unknown men, widely alleged to be the FG.

The cleric while addressing his followers in Enugu yesterday claimed that he is unable to explain what would have happened to him if not for the protests they organized.
He went further to claim that he is not aware of his crime and he is innocent of every allegations made against him.
