Catholic Bishops Rejects Kwara Governments Directive On The Use Of Hijab In Public Schools

The Catholic Bishop Of Ilorin “Most Rev. Paul Olawoore”, who is also the State Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN Kwara State Chapter) has again rejected the directives of the State government on the use of Hijab in Public schools.

The Roman Cleric stated that the Church was not duly consulted and did not reach any agreement with the State government. He further went ahead to condemn the state government for forcefully taking over mission schools from the Church.

Punch News also reported that the Cleric called on all Christian faithfuls to join hands in prayers and avoid any form of violence and he is not in support of any form of violence or loss of lives and properties.

They also went ahead to state clearly that Christians in the state did not agree to the use of hijabs in mission schools.
