Nigerian Court Sentences Lawyer To Jail For Interrupting The Judge (Details)

An Abuja Magistrate of Court 2, Wuse Zone 6, identified as Ibrahim Mohammed has sentenced a lawyer to court for interrupting him while he was delivering his judgment.

The lawyer said to be Eburu Barth was said to have opposed the Judges Judgment. The lawyer who claimed that the Judge was ascribing what he never said to him in his ruling.

The Magistrate who was angered by the Lawyers act quickly ordered the Police to handcuff the Lawyer while handing him a Two months imprisonment term for contempt.

According to SaharaReporters, pleas for mercy from other learned colleagues present fell on deaf ears as the Judge was determined to exercise his full power.
