Lady Takes Boyfriend To Court For Failing To Marry Her After 8 Years
A Zambian woman has taken her boyfriend to court for wasting her time by not marrying her despite being together for eight years.
The 26-year-old woman identified as Gertrude Ngoma told a Zambian court that she had lost patience waiting for Herbert Salaliki, 28, to fulfill his promise to wed her.
A source says Ngoma still stays with her parents despite being Herbert’s baby mama, whereas Herbert has his own apartment where he lives alone.
Herbert is reported to have settled the dowry payment but had not made the next move to wed her which got her infuriated.
Ngoma disclosed that her lover wasn’t serious about wedding her and she was tired of waiting and decided to take him to court for not taking their future together seriously.
In her words, she said “He has never been serious, that is why I bought him to court because I deserve to know the way forward and our future,”
Ngoma casted doubt on Hebert’s loyalty after she discovered he was also testing another woman, who she believes her boyfriend is secretly dating.
Herbert, while defending himself in court, disclosed that he wasn’t buoyant enough to afford a wedding and also blamed Ngoma for depriving him of the needed attention.
The judge presiding the case, told the pair that they should choose the path of dialogue and reconcile as it was the only way to go since they are not yet married.
