Prince Mieyebi, a 27-year-old Nigerian man has been sta.bbed to d.eath by three armed assailants in Warri, Delta State, after he reportedly won a N15 million bet.
Reports stated that Prince was mu.rdered on Friday, November 27, while he was locking his Aunt’s shop located at the popular Ogbe-Ijoh market in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.
After he was st.abbed on various parts of his body, the assailants fled with his mobile phone. Unfortunately for him, he passed away before he could be rushed to a hospital nearly.
Mr Thomas Ogisi, the deceased’s uncle, who confirmed the murder of his nephew on Saturday, revealed that the late nephew, a week before his death, had played the betting game that would yield N15million and fortunately for him, all his predictions ticked.
It hasn’t been confirmed yet if the murder of the young man is linked to the reported N15 million win, since the assailants took his phone which could have been the easier way of accessing his account.
In his words, Thomas Ogisi said;
“The boy stays with my elder sister. On that fateful day, they were in Ogbe-Ijoh market and were preparing to close when suddenly three boys blocked him in the shop and they stabbed him. The incident happened around 6pm on Friday. After stabbing him, they collected only his phone and left. Before he was rushed to the hospital, he was already dead,”
“The information we are hearing from his friends indicate that he was killed because he won N15 million from a betting game. He was expecting the money to be paid to him on Wednesday before he was stabbed to death on Monday. Some of his friends were aware of the money,”
“We are demanding for justice for the gruesome killing of our son. We want thorough investigation by the police. We are not also happy with the level of security at the market.”
