The clarion call to end the Special Anti-Robbery Squad(SARS) has finally yielded result as police IG, Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, on Sunday October 11, has officially dissolved the unit in a recent live broadcast.
IG Adamu, stated that the operatives will be redeployed to other police formations henceforth.
According to the IG’s statement, he said;
“The Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Nigeria Police Force known as SARS is hereby dissolved in all the 36 states police commands including Federal Capital Territory (FCT)…“
The protest for the unit to be banned has taken over the nation for over 3days now and even in other countries.
Nigerians in diaspora, called for the unit to be banned to put an end to the brutality, unlawfully killing and exploitation of Nigerians by officers of the unit.

Nigerian Police Arrests 35-Year-Old Man Who S.tabbed His Wife To Dea.th In Anambra State
The Nigerian Police Force, Anambra State Command has announced the arrest of a man who allegedly stabbed his wife to death.
According to the Police Spokesman, Mr. Haruna Mohammed, who made this known to the public stated that the man identified as Kingsley Igwe and only 35 years old had ran amok for some complicated reasons and brutally stabbed his wife.
The neighbors had rushed her to a nearby hospital, but she was confirmed ‘Brought in Dead’ by the Doctor on duty. Kingsley’s wife died at the age of 31. The Police also informed the general public that investigations into the case was still ongoing.
