Grandma Sells Her Grandson For ₦1.3m Because His Dad Didn’t Pay Her Daughter’s Bride Price.

A two-week-old baby boy has been rescued by the Rivers State police command after he was alleged to have been sold for ₦1.3million.

Police source reported that the woman identified as Anthonia Amos, claimed that her grandson’s dad hadn’t paid her daughter’s bride price and that was the reason she sold the baby, which is her grandson.

The father of the baby, Christian Duru reported the case to the police, which led to arrest of the child’s grandmother, Anthonia Amos.

The suspects

Joseph Mukan, the Commissioner of Police (CP), revealed that the suspect, Anthonia led Detectives to Ukanafun LGA in Akwa-Ibom State, which resulted in the apprehension of one Pauline Umoh.

Subsequently, she also led the Police to Mgbidi in Imo State where the woman who bought the child, Juliana Obianwa was apprehended and the baby recovered in good condition.

“We are still making efforts to arrest others involved in the crime”, the commissioner of police said.

The Nigerian Police Force, Anambra State Command has announced the arrest of a man who allegedly stabbed his wife to death.

According to the Police Spokesman, Mr. Haruna Mohammed, who made this known to the public stated that the man identified as Kingsley Igwe and only 35 years old had ran amok for some complicated reasons and brutally stabbed his wife.

The neighbors had rushed her to a nearby hospital, but she was confirmed ‘Brought in Dead’ by the Doctor on duty. Kingsley’s wife died at the age of 31. The Police also informed the general public that investigations into the case was still ongoing.
