Despite the cancellation of the planned protest scheduled for today by popular Nigerian singer, Naira Marley, some youths in Benin city still went ahead to carry out the protest.
The planned and cancelled protest was against the injustice by members of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, a unit of the Nigerian police, meted on mainly Nigerian youths.
The Police IG had earlier restricted the activities of the SARS unit and even went ahead to appealed to the singer to cancel the planned protest scheduled for today as modalities are in place to rectify the unit.
But in an emerging video, posted by a social media user, it showed that the protest went ahead in Benin city, Edo state as youths were seen vibing to Davido’s new song “FEM” carrying placards.
But it was a peaceful one.

A young Ghanaian man who was known as a yogurt seller finally breaks the yoke as he becomes a Nursing student, after many years of struggling for financial help.
The man identified as Adom-Ba was said to have been known for selling yogurt after he sat for the BECE in 2012 and passed but had no money or help to continue his education.
The zeal and love for education made him relocate to stay with his mum, where he got a job at a restaurant and other part time jobs.
According to Abandaily, who reported the news first, Adom-Ba Lucky is currently a Bachelor of Science in Nursing student at Pentecost University, PU, in Sowutuom, Accra, under a scholarship by the Church of Pentecost, Tema Area.
