The immediately past governor of Imo state, Rochas Owelle Okorocha, yesterday the 20th of September, 2020, felicitated with Edolites for coming together to fight godfatherism in the state by electing Goveror Godwin Obaseki.
Godwin Obaseki, who was a former member of the All Progressives Congress, defected to the People’s Democratic Party, got the gubernatorial ticket and went on to win the election on the platform.
Okorocha, one of the founding members of APC and a senator in the National Assembly representing Imo West Senatorial District, in his statement described the APC loss in Edo as a “revolution against injustice by the masses”
In addition, he said the only value the party has presently is the respect for the President, Muhammadu Buhari
In a brief conversation with journalists in Abuja, the nation’s capital, Okorocha emphasized that ” there is no more APC, what we have is the respect for President Muhammadu Buhari”
Also, the 2019 governorship candidate in Imo state, who is Okorocha’s son-in-law, Uche Nwosu, portioned the blame of the defeat of the party on Comrade Adams Oshiomole, the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress. He said, all Oshiomole did, was trying to force people to accept his own candidate, a candidate the people never wanted
In his words, he said, “this is not what APC was built on, we expect things to be done the right way but the former chairman, Adams Oshiomole, believes that anything can come from anywhere without going through the due process,”
The Edo state gubernatorial election was held on the 19th September 2020 and after the results compilation, the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Godwin Obaseki emerged as the winner and the elected governor defeating his closest rival, pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the All Progressives Party.

It’s currently a Black Friday for the people of Onitsha and most especially the traders of Onitsha Plastic Market as fire engulfs more that 40% of the market.
According to BBC News Igbo, they reported that the fire outbreak was said to have started early today morning around 1:50am Nigerian time and it is believed that properties worth millions of Naira was also destroyed.

The cause of the fire is not yet known and the State Police Command has informed the general public that investigations into the matter is currently ongoing.
