Popular Nigerian pastor, Enoch Adejare Adeboye, the General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God(RCCG) worldwide with its headquarter in Lagos, Nigeria paid a courtesy visit to Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari today, 31st August, 2020.
President Muhammadu Buhari, in company of the vice president, Professor Yemi Osibajo and other dignitaries held a closed door meeting with the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye.
Reports said that the meeting took place around 3pm in the President’s office, Aso Rock but details of what discussed at the meeting was not revealed.
The assumed issue that may have prompted the visit of pastor Adeboye to Aso Rock may be the burning issue of the CAMA act that is being proffered to be applied to religious organizations where government can have some control over such religious organizations.
According to Chapter Four of the Act, it empower the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) to go hard on a defaulting organisation by suspending its board of trustees and replacing them with the appointing interim managers as obtainable in the UK and in the US and overseas.
But most Nigerian church leaders have faulted the move and are seriously against it, citing the churches abroad as charity organisations that get grants and benefits from their government, unlike here in Nigeria, where there are no such measures.

‘If Religion Was Something Good, The Western Invaders Wouldn’t Have Brought It To Africa’ – Actor Ugezu Ugezu Writes
Nollywood actor and producer, Ugezu Ugezu has taken to his Instagram account to share his view on religion.
According to Ugezu, who shared a very thought-provoking statement on religion in Africa, claimed that those who brought religion into Africa did it for their own interest, adding that if religion was going to improve the lives of Africans they wouldn’t have brought it to Africa.
Here is what he wrote;
“If Religion is something good, something that will ultimately better the lives of any people, THE WESTERN INVADERS WOULD NOT HAVE BROUGHT IT TO US.
UP till today, they are still hiding important things from us.
But our people will never learn. Tufiakwa.”
